Presidents and a Hint of Football

Has anyone been paying attention to the presidential election campaign stuff? If you’re over 18, I would hope the answer is yes. But all I have to say is it stinks for yall so-called adults because if I were an adult, I would be a dangerous voter. I know nothing of the existing politics these days. Nothing on the war in Iraq. Nothing on the 7 billion dollar market thing. Feel free to correct me on what in the world this thing is called but all I know is that people lost a lot of money. I know nothing on what Barack Obama’s views are. Same with John McCain. The only thing I got out of any of this presidential campaign is the hilarious SNL videos with the actors making fun of debates. So to conclude this pointless post to inform you that I am a better person for not voting because of my under-age, I will encourage those who vote to hang in there because I am glad I’m not you. Besides God will take care of the whole thing. Vote-on.

Oh and to further conclude this post, I also have to say that if you are an Oklahoma University fan, consider this sentence as a rubbing-our-awesome-win-in-your-face type of sentence.

Too Many Adults Take Driving for Granted

Sitting in Java Jazz, listening to music, drinking coffee, stealing internet!!! I can't wait till I can drive. I can spend my money and come to get coffee whenever I want. Well I may be speaking to soon but... we will see...

Same Difference

So we went to Dallas again this last week and visited a church called Denton Bible Church. It was a pretty traditional church with a great preacher named Tommy Nelson. He did a sermon over judgment and went pretty deep into that but that’s not the important thing. I felt like I had gone back in time to when we went to the 1st Baptist Church of Brazoria. The band consisted of a few stringed instruments, many brass instruments, a harp, and a big choir to back them up. Tommy came up to preach and said lets turn to Mathew chapter 7 and the sound of starchy shirts crunching and thin bible pages turning started to sound. I haven’t heard that sound in a long time.

Brazos Pointe Fellowship could be the total opposite but then again sort of the same. The bands were different. Our band has the guitars, bass, drums, and a few singers. People dress different. No starchy shirts and ties with long khaki pants. No BPF is an athletic shorts and flip flops type of church.

But then all again BPF and Denton Bible Church are completely the same with the same type of purpose… to have a place for Christians and non- Christians to come and learn and draw closer to God or even start a relationship with God. So in a way I couldn’t pick a side of church. Traditional church or Casual church. Two totally different types but both with the same purpose.

Canyon vs. Catherine... hmmmmm

Ok I’m back… from Canyon Lake and it was as fun as it usually is. We jumped off of 20 foot cliffs, rode bikes till there was no tomorrow, went to Landa Park, tubed on the Guadalupe, and swam for ever and ever and ever. And man did we eat great food as it usually is with my family.

Next up… Lake Catherine. Can’t wait for the hiking, running :) if I will be able to get out again soon, swimming, family fun, my Aunt Edie, tipping over a canoe in the middle of the lake with sister and cousin, ticks galore, good weather, and plenty of board and card games if it is raining. I will give a more detailed report on both Canyon and Catherine when I get back.

This is what the water fall looks like when it is actually flowing... its still a pretty site even when its not though.

In the mean time, just be patient. I know yall love my posts but you sort of have to hold your horses. Hehe. Just kidding.

Peace and love

Another Reason My Parents Are Better

AAAAAHHHH… Ok that’s all I have to say to get you to know that I am going to Canyon Lake this Friday with my favoritest Aunt Ollie (I can’t say that she’s my favorite Aunt cause they are all equally awesome!!!!). Canyon Lake is a place I look forward to going every summer and this year, due to my many sunburns, I almost didn’t get to go. But I made a promise to my loving parents that I wouldn’t get sunburned, and we will see how that plays out. My sunscreen better work cause I think I might scream if I come home sunburned and might never get to go to Canyon Lake again.

So with my Canyon career on the line, I will post when I get back to tell of the many festivities that happened there. Last year we didn’t go due to dam problems… hehe. Lake dam. Don’t get me wrong. But the year before that we took out the pontoon boat and found a nice cliff to jump off of. Don’t fret… The water was over 30 feet deep. And one of the others was we found a bike and tied a rope to the dock and rode the bike off the dock. Crazy, safe fun. Can’t complain with that… well I’m sure you could find a way to complain. But don't cause this world could live with a little less of it. (Mom and/or Dad will comment about this crazy complaint theory I have so watch out).

le Tour de France

Man I love the Tour de France. I couldn’t tell you why but… hey do I have to have a reason. I have been watching since I was about ten or even earlier than that. There is something about people riding a bike 200 kilometers a day for 23 days. Man that has to take some serious endurance. And to top it off… around about stage 17 is when it starts heading into the Alps of France. Heart rates rise up to over 200 and riders start falling one by one. The master of these Alps is a man named Lance Armstrong. I hope you’ve heard of him but not only was he the king of the Alps but also won the Tour de France like 7 stinkin times in a row. And that was after he battled cancer for two years.

This year I was going for a guy named Alejandro Valverde from Spain because he looked like he would win but now he is like 5 minutes back. In the lead right now, I think, is a guy named Cadel Evans from Australia. So maybe I should go for him now but… I don’t know…… Maybe I’ll just watch.

Coldplay.. Viva la Vida

Coldplays new CD is awesome!!! At first I thought it was a little weird, but once you listen to it a couple times.. musically it is the best CD ever. Each song it seems like has a different instrument. I couldn't start to name them but... Here is a video of their first release from itunes, Violet Hill.

My Last Week

I usually don’t like writing about moments and experiences because I have a fear that people just don't care about what other people did their last week. But this one was to good to leave inside. If you read the Stunz Blog then you should be caught up but the last week or so we went to Dallas for my mawmaw and pawpaw’s 50th anniversary. It was held at my Aunt Edie’s house. They have a pool and lots of fun stuff to do by their house…

We ate at pei wei one time which might just be my favorite restaurant in the world. We went to a restaurant called Medieval Times where you ate with your hands and watched thrilled fighting scenes versus many color-coated knights. They were very realistic and entertaining. Anna loved it. In fact my mom told me that she was cheering in her sleep. But we all loved it.

Then the we went to a Texas Rangers game… this game brought many memories like… A guy came up to bat for the Rangers named German Duran. Right when he got up to the plate I asked my mom for the camera to video him swinging. You wouldn’t believe it but he hit a home run while I was video taping! First time I video taped on the camera that day… I think. But I couldn’t decide whether I should tape the fire works or him running or try to catch the ball in the air with the camera. Gosh I will post it some day soon and you will see what I mean.

Then the highlight of my week. These are the reasons I like my Aunt Edie so much… Lately I have expressed my love of Toaster Struddles. Every time my mom has a grocery list I try to write it on there and if she is feeling nice she might buy them. But it hasn’t worked once. So my mom had to go to Target (Tar- shay) for some groceries and I told her to buy Toaster Struddles and my mom said no. But later my Aunt went out and, guess what… SHE BOUGHT TOASTER STRUDDLES. I was so happy. I ate the whole box and a half of another one. Thanks Aunt Edie.

July 1st + Insurance = Back Flip

July 1st should be a good day. It’s a Tuesday and because of my dad’s new job, we have been holding up all our energy for July 1st to come around so we can let it all out and incase of injury, we will have insurance. Yep that was a mouthful sentence but to sum it all up… We can’t (or I can’t) wait till we get insurance so I can hurt my self.

I have recently decided I want to learn how to do a back flip. I expressed this interest to my parents and they said I could as long as it was on July 1st cause that is when we get insurance. Boy that day is coming around the corner and I cannot wait.

Don’t get me wrong… I don’t want to hurt myself, but in the case that I do… it will cost us nothing.

Bloggin Time!

All right it is about time I start writing on a blog… it’s summer. What better do I have to do? I could go exercise but who does that? I could go play basketball. But no.

So me and my mom created this header picture deal that looks awesome and maybe I will write about something random every once in a while. So peace and love. I got stuff to do.

School Was...

School was educational, interesting, fun, hilarious, time consuming, hard, easy, dumb, friendly, unfriendly, dislikeful, well teached, flexible, strict, free, and if anything else... weirdly the most bitter sweet school year ever. My teachers were awesome. My friends were awesome. My family was supporting. But man was the freshman year incredibly difficult. There were times when I wanted to stop and just let this one paper be a zero. Boy did I pay for those. I learned that procrastination can kill you and that even though your throat hurts, you need to come to school. I learned that at the end (now) for exemptions. From now on, even if I broke my neck, take me in my bed to my classroom because I won't miss and have to do an insane amount of make-up work. Hahaha I learned that if you say one bad thing to a coach, it takes a while to regane loyalty and trust from him and that you have to work hard to do that. Being a freshman was fun................... that's it.

Festivities and Spring Break

Friday before Spring Break is always a good one… but mine totally blows away everybody else’s. One… I finally got our to run. For some reason I didn’t get out to run all week and it was frustrating me. When I got up in the mornings, I couldn’t find a good reason to run so I figured sleep was more important. I found that I was wrong all week because you don’t feel good before the run but afterwards there is a sense of accomplishment.

Next off I had my birthday party with all my friends who came over for a whole bunch of basketball and airsoft. I gave them the choice of playing airsoft at a park near my house or walking over to Slade Field to play Ultimate Frisbee. Well it’s pretty obvious what they chose.

After my party ended I went to a lock-in small group party at the Monical’s new massive house. It was great fun. We swam in their pool and watched the Houston Rockets win 21 consecutive games all at the same time on their plasma screen TV on the porch. We listened to country music for a while on the overhead speakers but I eventually changed this in my hatred of country music. I was eventually shunned for this and was forced into listening to 80’s Guns and Roses, which was an okay compromise. Guitar Hero was also a popular game at this party and then we played pool a lot too.

Overall an amazing Friday but the rest of Spring Break won’t get any worse. I am set to run 10 miles tomorrow on my week high of 4 miles. That was a joke. Then I am going to the deer lease with my grandpa and cousin to hunt some serious turkey. Once I get back me and Phillip Hintze will be heading to Guitar Center to hopefully buy a nice new electric. If my procrastination problem dies down somehow over Spring Break, then maybe a drivers permit will fall into my hands. Haha I crack myself up.

George Muller- His Story

Here’s a story I read in a book that I thought was compelling. A story of never giving up and choosing God as the way to go…..

There was a man named George Muller who was a man who didn’t follow God, didn’t even know much of Him. At the age of 14 he would go out and drink at parties and do drugs and stuff. The night his mother died he was out at a party getting drunk. He finally gave it all up and heard about God. This one experience with God made so much compassion in him that he decided to become a missionary. His girlfriend didn’t want him to be a missionary because she wouldn’t take him that way. His father hated him for becoming a missionary and said he would no longer call him his son anymore. He chose God and went to a missionary school. George met a girl who understood him and followed the same beliefs as him. He eventually wed this woman and they went long periods of time without food and water and they would pray to God and He would provide. George met an orphan beggar in a park one time and it made him compassionate for orphans so him and his wife started an orphanage. There was a time when there was no food whatsoever for any of the orphans. He gathered the orphans in prayer and asked God for food and then there was a knock at the door from a guy who had baked two loafs of bread the night before for them. And if that wasn’t enough there was another knock on the door from the milkman whose truck had broken down right in front of the orphanage. He had to give away all the milk or else it would spoil. So not only did God provide for the orphans, He left a little extra for tea later. George died about 100 years ago and his orphanages still are around. Wow!

Should I Stay or Should I Go

School work... hmmmm.... and church. Dad finishing a big race. All in one day. And I can't figure out which one I should go to. Either school and church or leaving for San jacinto monument to see dad and his team finish a 200 mile relay race. You would think school and church would be a logical decision but for some mad reason, I think going to see dad finish would be right. So my decision is to go to church and do some homework... going against my gut. We'll see if it was a good decision... for I have made some bad ones in my lifetime. haha don't we all.

Going to church and doing homwork can't be a bad decision can it?!
